How Does One Acquire Acoustic Neuroma

Many people have a hard time trying to figure out how they have been diagnosed with acoustic neuroma. There are some causes that can lead to this condition. When a person is diagnosed with acoustic neuroma, they have been diagnosed with tumors on the main nerve leading from their inner ear to their brain. It actually seems to be caused from a gene that is known as a malfunction on chromosome 22. This gene will produce a protein that will help direct the growth of cells referred to as Schwann cells. These cells are usually found covering the nerves. It is not clear what makes the gene not function properly. This gene is inherited though, and that is clear. This is the only known cause of acoustic neuroma, and many people are pretty disturbed to know that they have been diagnosed with it. There are some things that people can do if they are treated earlier enough. Treatment varies, and there may be some complications that end up arising from it. That is why any symptoms that you notice, should be reported to your doctor as soon as possible. You want to have every thing taken care of without complications.
